Updated Wednesday & Friday Evenings

The Greatest Mod, Ever

Nick - writer - posted on Thursday, 01/15/09 19:55:37 EST

Hey everybody. Once again no new news to report. Haven't heard back from 2600 in a while, the weather's been really bad up there and we also had a good sized snowfall here too today. As always, when I hear anything new, I'll let you know.

Now, for something truly awesome. I meant to post this last week, but since it was Christmas, I just chilled out because it was nice to have a week off. I saw this on YouTube, and the other day it was featured on Attack From The Show, so I decided on posting it here for some more people to see.

Left 4 Dead, Macho Madness!

Oh yeah!! Dig it! Now that L4D is patched, I went back again and played it some more with the Macho Man Mod on and it was hilarious. Hearing zombies scream "Get yer hands of Elizabeth!" and "BONESAW IS READY!!!" made me crack up and nearly wet my pants.

There's another mod out there that turns the town into Raccoon City from Resident Evil 2 and of course the Day of the Dead and Shaun of the Dead mods too.

If you have the PC version of the game, be sure to check them out.

I'd like to close out by saying Good Luck, to our pal Captain Treacherous. He started law school in Chicago a week ago, and I hope he's doing well.

See you all next week.

Same thing, different day.

Hey everybody. Well, nothing much on the news front here. I somehow lost the battery charger to my digital camera so I have to hunt down for it a fourth time or pony up the money to get myself a new one.

As 2600 said on Friday, we had another excellent time at Castle Video last week. Nothing but high praise to Captain Kirk. If your in the area and want to play some great pinball, be sure to check him out. I don't know what it is about New Jersey, but they sure do have some great places to play pinball. If your at Castle Video, 8 on the Break and even the Jersey shore, there's places to play. I just wish more people would go out and play.

On the other news front, it's sad to say, EGM is closing up shop. I was a subscriber back in the SNES and Genny days. I still remember the Shen Long April Fools joke, Sushi-X's reviews and hearing all the big rumors from Quarterman. It's sad to see them go, but since the 90's you could just get all the news you wanted for free online, so unless they had big exclusive interviews and pictures (which would be leaked online anyway) it was better saving your money and going online.

I'm getting ready for Street Fighter IV next month. 2600 and I will be getting it on the 360 so you will see us on there. I'm also in the process of upgrading my 360 stick to real Japanese Swana parts, so I can have a stick just like at Tokyo Game Action.

We're also trying to get our videos out onto other sites. Nothing really in the works but I've been talking to some people to try to get our stuff out to more people then the small audience we have on Blip and Youtube. (Even though 90% of the people watching us on YouTube are all there for James' interview)

We also tried to make it out to MAGFest this year but weren't able to attend due to time and money. I'm thinking of going to New York Comic Con again this year, because they did put on an awesome show, I just got to bring more money, because I'm still kicking myself in the ass for not getting the show exclusive TMNT deluxe gift set.

Once we find out our 2009 plans for conventions we'll let you know. With the way I-Con is being set up this year, I'm thinking about taking the year off till they go back to Stony Brook and not to three different places. In the spring time, I might be going down to Animazement depending on which guests they get, if they don't, I'll be going to the FunSpot tournament with everybody else. Then of course there's Otakon. 2600 and I haven't discussed anything as far as a new panel goes but we are strongly thinking about going as well as PAPA 12 this August.

Hopefully I'll have more news on Friday. So see you then.

Trip to Castle Video

2600 - writer/artist - posted on Friday, 01/02/09 17:34:44 EST

Nick, Capn'T, and I (the illustrious 2600) had the chance to go to Castle Video this past Tuesday. If you don't know, Castle Video is a video store/ book store/ storage/ ...PINBALL ARCADE!!! They have 13 Pinball Machines that are kept in immaculate condition. We have talked about Castle Video before, but this recent trip was made extra special because we got to meet the owner of Castle Video, the man, the myth, Captain Kirk! We got a great interview with him as well as some extra footage of the new games that Castle Video had. We are also working on some new Arcade Hunters videos, as well as some new video's. Castle Video

Also, I have some more information regarding the Press Start video game. It is going to be a "point and click" game much like some of the classic Lucas Arts games (Maniac Mansion, Curse of Monkey Island, etc.). The premise and story are still being fleshed out, but so far I can say it fits the humor of the comic and takes the antics of Bob, Greg, and Rico to new levels (not only can you read about Bob peeing in Rico's cereal, but you will be able to commit the said act). The tentative release schedule for the game will be August 2009 so keep checking back for new info and possibly some demo's. The length of the game has not yet been decided. If the game ends up being a little short, then we may release multiple games as episodes to continue the story, similar to the new Sam and Max games and the Homestar Runner games. So keep on checking back for some more news, video's, comics, and other related nonsense!

OutRun Online Arcade

Nick - writer - posted on Saturday, 12/20/08 0:55:45 EST

If your a viewer of the site, or the YouTube channel, you might know that one of my favorite games is OutRun. Just the whole package of the game I love. Playing it in the arcade inside a mini car, swaying from side to side with the music going and the tight controls is just so much fun.

The creator of the game, Yu Sazuki called it a driving game, because your not really racing against other people, you're just trying to go for the best time and taking risks by going to the harder paths you can take in the game. I've only been able to finish the game a few times, even on the easier tracks, but it's still a hell of a lot of fun.

Now we have some of the best news from the past few months, Sega and Sumo Digital are making OutRun Online Arcade for XBox Live Arcade as well as the Playstation Network.

First OutRun Online Arcade Trailer!

The game looks pretty damn sweet. I don't care how many points it costs, I'll get it the day it comes out. I still like to pop in OutRun2 in my 360 from time to time and I really need to pick up Cost 2 Cost and the PSP version of Cost 2 Cost as well.

Well, Christmas is coming sooner then ever and I have almost nothing done. Got to get back to more shopping and everything, so till next week, take care.

Yet, more bad news.

Nick - writer - posted on Wednesday, 12/17/08 22:08:56 EST

The bad news has just been rolling in. First we got word that Tokyo Game Action suffered a massive flood due to the ice storms that has been going on in New England. Andy was away in Japan for all of this, so now he had to cut his trip short and the last thing he told us was the outlook wasn't very good. So we all wish Chie and Andy a speedy recovery as well as everybody else effected by the storms.

The other bit of bad news comes from 2600 who's now up in New Hampshire. He told me that the power went out in his apartment and even though he still has a surge protector, his computer got hit. He told me it was running sluggishly when he first turned it on, then after a while it locked up and now he can't get it to power on at all.

So that means there won't be any new comics or new videos from us till he can either get it fixed, or get a new computer. Thankfully all of the videos we have are still on tape and just need to be re-edited and put together before we upload them.

Other then being made fun of in the interview we did with James, nothing much has been going on. We hit 150 subscribers on YouTube, so thanks much for everybody for checking us out. The videos are coming, just with the computer crash, it will take longer to get them done.

Now to answer the number one question I've been getting, I'll answer it right now. "Will you be going to China Town Fair again?" well of course, the answer is "Yes!". The problem is with 2600 and I split up we can't go to as many places as we would like to, so we're going to try to visit there on the Christmas break.

I know all about the new games they added in, and I have a bag full of tokens ready for Tekken 6, BlazBlue and Street Fighter 4. So be patient, the videos are coming. I will have my digital camera so the lower quality videos will be up sooner, as well as pictures, hopefully it's not too crowded.

I'll have another update up on Friday, so see you all then. Later.
