Updated Wednesday & Friday Evenings

Kabong Heroes

Today's comic comes to you from Nick and 2600, our intrepid "away" team, who are currently en route to Funspot, as they spent most of the day stuck in traffic. The Cap'n and I are left holding the site's reins again as usual.

Speaking of which, though my upcoming overhaul of the site mentioned in 8 Bit Bites is going forward, as my month is insanely busy with bachelor parties, family birthdays, a wedding, fixing my house up for a party, and job hunting, whether or not I'll be able to give the site the full treatment is somewhat up in the air. There's also little likelihood of me pumping out any more editorial content for the month.

On the other hand, our Dave and Busters ticket total grows, and you can hear the latest episode of 8BB, which was up earlier in the week but slipped through the cracks along with the Wednesday update.

As for the short lapse in Youtube content and arcade reviews, I can only say that we've all been too swamped to visit any locations lately - though this should change next Saturday, as Castle Golf is hosting a DDR tournament. Provided that Nick can get off from work, some video content will go up. While I'm not sure if Castle Golf has a website, the address and other information can be found here, so feel free to stop in for the tournament and meet the Press Start crew (or at least the away team!) as well. More info should be up on that for Wednesday.

Lambda Lambda Halo

The sales of Halo 3 are mind boggling, I mean, the idea of Halo 3 raking in more money then Spiderman 3's record breaking weekend is insane. A lot of people have been arguing how Halo 3 costs 60 bucks and a ticket for Spiderman 3 costs only 10, which is true. The only thing these people are forgetting about is the fact that ANYONE can go see Spiderman 3 while only people who own XBOX 360 will most likely be the ones purchasing Halo 3. Anyway, onto the comic. Look familiar? It should. I have found through my College life that Halo and Madden fans are similar yet, still, just a tad bit different. If you're confused, go take a look at our Madden Release Day comic HERE. Also we did another 8 Bit Bytes episode and will upload it with Wednesday's news post.

8 Bit Bytes 6

CyclopticInsight - writer/webmaster - posted on Wednesday, 09/26/07 22:51:33 EDT

It's been awhile since I posted the update, so I figured I'd give Nick a rest and handle it for today.

The 6th installment of 8 Bit Bytes is finished and uploaded for your listening enjoyment here. Topics include Xbox 360 games, the closing of a local arcade, Ikaruga, and more.

Since 2600's hard at work for Friday's comic, I'd like to take this moment to echo Nick's post: If you got Halo 3 this week, please enjoy it and remember that there are at least three lucky people out there playing copies of it that we didn't preorder. The copies we did not buy may well have been yours, anonymous reader, but thanks to our non-intervention you're now playing Halo (of course, the fact that we didn't want it will remain unmentioned...oops)!

See? At Press Start, we always give back to our fans.

Bioshock Comic 2: Special Guest

Nick - writer - posted on Tuesday, 09/25/07 0:38:21 EDT

Hey folks. Sorry for the delay. This was supposed to be up on the weekend, but we got held up and we're bringing it to you tonight. It's a continuation to the last Bioshock comic. Hope you like it.

Happy Halo Day to all! Since I'm under the weather, I watched the tail end of G4's Halo release special. They shut down the streets of New York City and had three guys on Mongooses (ATVs) and a giant Hummer decked out in Halo 3. The one thing I laughed at was the "official" Master Chief's costume they got looked HORRIBLE and a fan who came dressed as the Chief, holding a giant flag, looked ten times better than he did!

I sold a bunch of stuff on eBay and now I'm looking into finally picking up a 360 for myself. Costco has a bundle with the newer 360, a couple of extras and a game, so I might pick that up with some MS Points.

Well that's it for tonight. If you got Halo today, enjoy it. We'll be back this week with more stuff.

Dave and Busters Islandia Friday Night!

Nick - writer - posted on Wednesday, 09/19/07 23:39:08 EDT

Hey everybody. Just a quick reminder for you. If your in the Long Island area and want to hang out with us, we'll be having a meeting over at the local Dave and Busters in Islandia Friday night. We should be getting there between 5-6 and then having the dinner deal at 7:00PM. We'll also be doing a podcast while were there and we'll have that up Friday night with this week's comic early Saturday.

The rest of the crew has been working on some new reviews and opinions. I recently finished Psychonauts, so be on the look out for a review of that. Other then that I'm psyched for the Tokyo Game Show. The Microsoft news has been really good with RezHD, Trigger Heat Excellica, Ikuraga and Exit all coming to XBox Live Arcade. Sony is starting to release some news and I'm looking forward to hearing what they have to say.

So once again, if your on the Island, be sure to come down to D&B after work and be sure to check back in this weekend for the comic! Later.
